Cait’s Biography

Coaching

Coaching people on the ground and on horseback for over twenty-five years, my direct, compassionate approach blends into everything that I offer to the communities I serve. Seeing the light go on for clients is what makes me bounce out of bed every day!

Nutrition

For nutrition coaching, I promote the understanding of how nutrient rich, real food serves us. Really. It’s that simple.

Fitness

Year round, I coach Boot Camp, TRX, Pilates, Yoga and Yin Yoga classes in the top of our century old barn and in our studio for people ages 10 to 75+. The cornerstones of my coaching are

  • to encourage curiosity and
  • to help people develop ownership of body awareness.

Writing

Since childhood, I have found pleasure in writing. I graduated from the University of Vermont in 1995 with a B.A. in English and a theatre minor. I work behind the scenes to develop my writing—this blog serves as one of  my tools. People and animals are my muse’s glue.

Horses

I started riding horses at the age of four in 1975. I rode English, starting with hunt seat, and then switched to eventing which turned me onto the puzzle of dressage. I competed through university until I fell in love with the behind the scenes aspect of training horses and riders.

Untangling the paradox of the equine and human connection fuelled me through my twenties and thirties. I realized I could help horses better if I helped their people through nutrition and fitness.

I continued in the horse industry working all over New England and New York State specializing in youngsters and criminals—misunderstood horses deemed dangerous by well-intentioned humans—until I moved to Canada in 2000 to marry Derek Lynch. In the spring of 2000, I contracted Lyme Disease. In 2003, I turned my coaching focus towards health and wellness to help save myself from the Lyme’s. I also realized I could help horses better if I helped their people.

Currently, my goal is to reach a greater community online through my courses and my writing.
